Of course, the world is constantly changing, new rules are being brought in, and people are having to adapt to this as best they can. We would say that the majority of people have been doing really well with this, but we want to talk about the changes as we’re sure that some of you are noticing them, but nobody is really talking about them.

More Expensive Than Other Years

The first thing that we want to talk about is the fact that the prices of holidays are going up, up and up again. To be completely honest, most of them have always been expensive. Now, we know that due to the cost of living crisis that is being felt in multiple areas, this is going to be contributing to the hike in holiday prices. Using A Lot Of Technology 

We also want to point out the fact that the tourism, travel, and leisure industry seem to be using a lot more technology than they used to. The industry is now starting to evolve and adapt the same way that others have, helping them to move into the future in a way that they hadn’t done previously.

In fact, AI is one of the most prevalent pieces of technology that seems to be used these days, as it helps with a whole load of tasks. Agentic AI is particularly common in tourism these days, helping travel companies to manage all of their clients, holiday offerings, bookings, and so on. We’re not saying that this is a bad thing, as in a lot of cases it has actually boosted efficiency. But, this could be contributing to that price hike we talked about, because tech, tools, software, and AI as a whole is not cheap.

Storing Your Items Is Common 

We would say that now more than ever, people are storing their luggage. They used to just carry it with them wherever they would go, even if it was a struggle to do so because it was the easiest thing to do in terms of not having to research places to store them. However, there are so many luggage storage points now across the world that travelers have access to, and it feels like a waste not to use them.

These are usually used to bridge the gap between an early checkout and a late flight or anything like this, so that travelers don’t have to miss out on their final day, simply because they have all of their belongings with them. 

Different Restrictions In Certain Areas Around The World 

We’re not sure if you noticed this one or not, as you might not have seen it when you were booking your holiday depending on where you’re trying to go, but there seem to be restrictions in place in certain countries stating who can and cannot come in. 

If you’re going to be going on holiday and you’re going to be using a tourist visa if this is necessary, then you’re going to need to check the list of restrictions and entry requirements. You might think that as you’re just visiting short-term that this is not going to be something that applies to you, but we can assure you that it is, and you need to take them seriously. 

Visas Seem To Be Tougher To Get 

Have you heard about the issues currently going on across the pond related to obtaining visas? This isn’t just in the states, but in other countries as well. If you are trying to book a holiday somewhere that requires a visa then be sure to check requirements before you go away. This will give you an idea of what you need to do and what evidence you may need to present in order to gain entry to that country. 

What they don’t like, and what makes it harder to get a visa approved is posts on social media. If you have ever said anything bad or negative regarding that country then you may have trouble getting accepted. They don’t just hand them to everyone who applies, the last thing you want is to lose all of your money that you paid for your trip away. 

Many People Don’t Have Travel Insurance 

Finally, when you are due to go away on holiday, you may be wondering if you need travel insurance. There have been quite a few stories in the media about people becoming poorly while on holiday and not having the means to get home or even pay for treatment while away. This happens more often than you think, and if you had travel insurance then this would cover any illnesses and accidents. It entitles you to the same medical treatment as the locals, which can be free or subsidised. 

While you can take the risk and not book travel insurance, do you want that weight on your shoulders? What if something were to happen and you were stuck in a foreign country with nobody but the hospital staff around you.
