The study by online casino guide 6takarakuji analysed Twitter data to discover the most talked about characters from the new The Super Mario Bros. Movie from the last 24 hours.
Bowser tops the list as the most popular character, with 134,999 Twitter mentions in the last 24 hours. The fire-breathing dragon is voiced by Jack Black, with one fan tweeting "Jack Black as Bowser was perfection"
In second place is Luigi, receiving 128,075 tweets within the last 24 hours of the movie's release. The character has influenced the sale of Luigi-designed merchandise since the movie's release, as seen on @familydealvibes. Charlie Day lends his voice to the kind plumber in the new film.
Princess Peach rounds out the top three with 72,915 character-related tweets since the film's release. The character debuted in Super Mario Bros. in 1985 and is voiced by Anya Taylor-Joy in the new film.
Looking at the study, a spokesperson from 6takarakuji commented:
