2023's most anticipated games

January 10, 2023 (Investorideas.com Newswire) New research has revealed the most anticipated games of 2023, with Hogwarts Legacy coming out on top.

Entertainment experts at Jeffbet.com analyzed Google searches for games set to release in 2023 to see which titles have the most demand worldwide and in the US.

The study found that Hogwarts Legacy is the most anticipated game of 2023, receiving 1,230,000 searches monthly worldwide and 352,000 on average every month in the US. The game, set to release in February, is set in the Wizarding World universe, based on the Harry Potter and Fantastic Beasts series. It's set to be one of the few only available on next-generation consoles.

Coming in second is the newest Bethesda title Starfield, with 540,000 searches a month worldwide and 200,000 searches a month in the US. It is Bethesda's first new IP in more than 25 years, with the science fiction title set to take place in a space-themed world. Set to be released in 2023, without a confirmed date yet, it's been in active development since 2015.

Third place goes to the fourth installment in Blizzard's dungeon crawler series, Diablo 4. The game, set to release in June of 2023, receives more than 301,000 searches worldwide and 80,000 searches monthly in the US. It's also coming out more than ten years after Diablo 3, following its announcement in 2019.

Fourth place goes to the remake of the 2008 game of the same name Dead Space. It receives 226,000 searches worldwide and 51,000 searches in the US every month. It's also the first release in the Dead Space series since 2013's Dead Space 3. The remake of 2008's Dead Space retains the same plot as the original title.

Rounding out the top five is Sons of the Forest, the sequel to the 2018 Indie survival game The Forest. The game, set to release in February 2023, receives 224,000 searches a month worldwide and 68,000 searches in the US every month on average. It's one of the only games on the list set to be a PC exclusive.

Commenting on the findings, a spokesperson for JeffBet said: "While many 2023 releases are yet to be confirmed, let alone announced, it's interesting to see what are already 2023's most in-demand games. As the year progresses, and triple AAA series announce their next installments, this list could be shuffled around and could even flip on its head."
