Newmont Corporation (NYSE:NEM) has completed the acquisition of GT Gold Corp. (TSXV:GTT), part of which includes the Tatogga project which, according to the press release, "has the potential to contribute future significant gold and copper annual production." Newmont President and CEO Tom Palmer said:
"With the acquisition of GT Gold and the Tatogga project in the highly sought-after Golden Triangle district of British Columbia, Canada, Newmont continues to strengthen our world-class portfolio. We look forward to continuing to build a respectful and meaningful relationship with the Tahltan Nation, including the community of Iskut. The relationships we have with Indigenous communities, First Nations and host communities are critical to the way we operate. We will partner with the Tahltan Nation at all levels, and with the Government of British Columbia to ensure a shared path forward as the Company understands and acknowledges that Tahltan consent is necessary for advancing the Tatogga project."
Hecla Mining Company (NYSE:HL) has released its Q1 2021 exploration results. Highlights include the interception of high-grade gold and silver mineralization, at Green Racer Sinter, over a 1,000-foot strike length and a 1,250-foot dip extent in the Sinter Vein, as well as two new mineralized footwall structures. Hecla's President and CEO, Phillips S. Baker, Jr., commented:
"Our early exploration results, just two miles from the mine portal, validates our thesis that despite its long high-grade production history, there remains significant untouched potential at Midas. The recent high-grade intercept grading 5.52 oz/ton gold and 8.9 oz/ton silver over 20.3 feet drilled (13.1 feet estimated true width) is one of the best exploration drillholes in North America in the past year."
MAG Silver Corp. (NYSEAmerican:MAG) has reported its unaudited financial results for the quarter ended March 31, 2021. The company recorded a net loss of $3,662,000, but holds a working capital amount of $94,844,000. And amid COVID-19 restrictions in Mexico, the company completed the full Juanicipio 2020 exploration program as planned in 2020, drilling 33 holes and 27,900 metres, and with full assays expected for Q2 this year.
Troilus Gold Corp. (TSX:TLG) has completed its previously-announced acquisition of UrbanGold Minerals Inc. (TSXV:UGM) Mathieu Stephens, former President and CEO of UrbanGold, commented:
