BYD to Highlight Battery Electric Technology at Roadmap 12

Portland, Ore. - June 18, 2019 (Newsfile Corp.) ( Newswire) BYD (Build Your Dreams) announced it will be participating in Roadmap 12, the nation's largest and most advanced annual conference on electric and smart mobility, held June 18-19 at the Oregon Convention Center in Portland, Ore.

"BYD is proud to participate in this annual conference, helping over 800 participants make connections that will promote the adoption of battery electric technology, improving the environment for all," said BYD North America President Stella Li.

On Monday, June 17, BYD is supporting a pre-conference outing by providing one of its battery-electric C9M coaches for a tour of Oregon's Willamette Valley wine region. This outing will include the region's Sokol Blosser Winery and Hyland Estates. Sokol Blosser and Hyland Estates are both part of Oregon's Plug + Pinot network, a collection of ten wineries that promote electric vehicle tourism and have on-site charging stations.

BYD will also be lending its expertise to the panel discussions. On Tuesday, June 18, at 12:30 p.m., Sam Jammal, BYD's senior manager for government relations, will be speaking on the panel "Carrying the Load: Electrifying Heavy Duty Trucks."

The panel will explore the accelerating rate of change in the heavy duty truck sector, including examining which market segments are likely to adopt battery electric technology first and what the most promising strategies are for managing the increasingly heavy electrical load.

The Official Sponsor of Mother Nature™, BYD, which stands for Build Your Dreams, is the world's leading electric vehicle company with proven innovative technology for cars, buses, trucks, forklifts, and rail systems – like SkyRail. BYD is dedicated to creating a truly zero-emission ecosystem offering technology for solar electricity generation, energy storage to save that electricity, and battery electric vehicles powered by that clean energy. BYD has 220,000 employees across the globe, including nearly 1,000 in North America. For more information, please visit
