Texas oilfield service controls technician strikes gold with the new "Omnishelf", @theomnishelf

Point Roberts, WA and Delta, BC - June 24, 2019 (Investorideas.com Newswire) Investorideas.com, a global news source and leading investor resource covering oil and gas and technology releases an interview with Bobby Martin a Texas oilfield service controls technician and founder of Omnishelf.

The OmniShelf is the world's first-ever portable workstation and briefcase. It attaches to any surface - truck door, telephone pole, HVAC equipment, wall and more - with industrial strength suction cups or magnets. When you're done, simply close up and transport your tools and office materials from jobsite to jobsite.

Interview:

"I started putting together a list. The more I thought about the different industries that would need a product like this just drove me crazy. The possibilities are endless. It's basically a workbench where you need it. Whether it's for tools, a laptop or whatever you need it for, it's a workbench to have by your side..."

From Oil Field Service Technician to business owner, Bobby Martin found a unique solution to a common problem for field workers, salespeople and construction foreman alike. The Omnishelf is the first mutli-use Portable workstation/Briefcase that sets up with ease no matter where the job takes you.

It was a long process from initially recognizing the problem so many people were having to the finished product The Omnishelf is today. But it was a simple spark Bobby received to conceive such an inspired solution. Setting up day to day at different rigs, all with varying work space accommodations, Bobby dreamt up an all-in-one workspace solution to take with him on the road.

"I made a prototype out of wood and it got a lot of attention. Everytime I would use it someone would stop and ask me what it was and where they could get it. I told them I was in the process of making a plastic one and the more attention it received the more it just drove me to get it done. I knew there was a huge market for it especially in the oilfield alone."

What makes the Omnishelf unique is its unparalleled ability to adapt to its surroundings, an idea even it's design and branding conveys. Bobby pointed out that the hexagone is the strongest structure in nature and with that in mind the pieces started to fall into place.

The image of the hexagon is reused and repurposed throughout the whole design including the "O" in Omnishelf. Matching the diagonal lines of the hexagon an adjustable "Y" shape guides a series of heavy duty magnets allowing it to fit wherever it needs to be set up.

"We had to make it so the magnets could be adjustable, where we could stick it not only to a wall but perhaps to a narrow column or light pole. So we came up with a "Y" pattern and that's where you see the big "Y" pattern on the outside. You can move the magnets closer together and line it up with the bottom. You can put it on a narrow column, or a pole."

One of the main concerns while conceptualizing the Omnishelf was the use of magnets along side computers. If one of the main functions of the case is to hold and prop up a computer then the magnets had to be strong enough to hold to its respective surface. However the concern of damage to the computer itself or even the hard drive was an area of focus. Bobby goes on to explain how they were able to get around this concerning issue.

"What I ended up doing was using three ceramic magnets, but they have steel on the inside so it makes the magnetism one directional. I ended up using stainless steel hardware . If you use normal metal screws they would become magnetized on the inside of the shelf. We made the onmishelf thick enough where you can close laptops and tools up inside of it."

Already receiving attention from coworkers and friends alike, the Omnishelf had to be tested to see if it could pass muster in the public market. Being warmly received by Walmart.com, Homedepot.com and Siemens Industry there is no doubt there is a market for a product like the Omnishelf. However the life of an entrepreneur isn't necessarily an easy one.

" I would like to be in every Home Depot there is. We are also in talks with several other distributors and retailers that have interest so we are waiting for that. I work one hundred hours a week, three weeks on the road and two weeks off. So I am hoping that something hits well enough so we can do this full time."
