AMI (TSX.V:AMU) - DRILL CONTRACT SIGNED FOR EXPLORATION PROGRAM AT SIRBA GOLD PROJECT, NIGER

Vancouver, B.C. – January 29, 2010 - The Company wishes to announce that through association with Golden Star Exploration Niger, it has entered into a drill contract with Foraco Niger S.A., an operating subsidiary of Foraco International S.A. Foraco Niger will be mobilizing the drill rig from Niamey to the Sirba Gold project within the next couple of weeks.
The minimum 18-hole drill program will concentrate on four previously defined gold zones:
- The Congo Toure Zone: Six holes at 100m depth are planned for the northeast corner of the Tialkam license covering a strike length of approximately 2 kilometers. The primary target in this area will be a series of historic RC holes, which intersected what appear to be both anomalous quartz vein systems as well as anomalous host rock, both in the oxide and fresh zones. Historic holes: TRC006 6m @ 3.71 g/t gold; TRC029 7m @ 3.41 g/t gold and TRC011 7m @ 2.12 g/t gold.
- The Tialkam South Zone: Three holes at 80m depth are planned for this zone located along the same prominent structure as the Congo Toure target. The drilling targets a strong surface anomaly that coincides with a zone of intense Artisanal mining activity. This zone is hosted in strongly altered mafic sediments with 1-2% disseminated cubic sulphides, probably pyrite. Historic holes: TIARC037 18m @ 4.79 g/t gold; TRC027 18m @ 3.01 g/t gold and TRC027 10m @ 3.50 g/t gold.
- The Kokoloukou Zone: Five holes at 80m depth are planned for an area located 5 kilometers northeast of the Samira Hill Gold Mine; this target is approximately 6 kilometers in length. In the western portion of this zone there are a series of historic drill holes with good anomalous values that are associated with an east-west trending fracture as well as a strong presence of shearing and alteration with the crosscutting fractures. Historic holes: NDRB203 18m @ 1.38 g/t gold; MUNS13 12m @ 1.84 g/t gold and MUNL5 6.06m @ 3.81 g/t gold.
- The Deba Zone: Four holes at 180m depth are planned for an area located in the northwest corner of the Deba license; this zone covers approximately 4 kilometers in strike length and the host rock is mafic tuffs and sediments with 1-2% disseminated sulphides and quartz veining. Historic holes: DEB001 9m @ 1.35 g/t; NDRB161 20m @ 21.6 g/t gold; DEB002 7m @ 7.27 g/t gold and NDRB154 5m @ 5.98 g/t gold.
