Vancouver Investors get a glimpse into what’s next in tech at the Extraordinary Future 2017 Conference
October 2, 2017 (Investorideas.com Newswire) Investorideas.com, a global news source and investor resource covering actively traded sectors including tech stocks, visits the Extraordinary Future 2017 conference held at the Vancouver Convention Centre East Vancouver September 20, 2017.
The conference was created to unite and inspire Vancouver's entrepreneur, finance, technology and influencer communities with exceptional, future thinking content.
Representing the technology sector was Virtual Armour International Inc. (CSE: VAI), an international cybersecurity and managed services provider. In a workshop, Virtual Armour Vice President Nick Dinsmoor spoke of the company's wide array of clients.
"We have significant experience in the healthcare space with companies like UC Health, Varian Medical Systems (NYSE: VAR), Varex Imaging (NASDAQ: VREX). We also have a deep history in the oil and gas space with companies like FMC (NYSE: FMC) and JBT (NYSE: JBT), and we also work with service companies like Cologix and SES," he said.
Virtual Armour delivers customized solutions to help businesses build, monitor, maintain and secure their networks.
Another public company that participated in a workshop and a panel presentation in the speaker hall was Patriot One Technologies Inc. (TSX.V: PAT) (OTCQB: PTOTF) who are looking toward market rollout for their award-winning PATSCAN CMR (Cognitive Microwave Radar) concealed weapons technology. PATSCAN CMR concealed weapons technology is a detection system designed to combat active shooter threats before they occur. The PATSCAN CMR recently received certification from Industry Canada and the company anticipates U.S. approval from the FCC soon.
Also presenting was KeyStone Financial, which makes recommendations of individual companies to individual investors based on profitability and growth. According to KeyStone's Senior Equity Analyst Aaron Dunn, the company stands out by being funded solely through its client subscriptions.
"One of the things that make us somewhat unique in this market is we are truly independent," he said. "We don't get paid by the companies we recommend, we get paid just by our clients."
There were many other panels and workshops on blockchain technology, artificial intelligence, internet of things, virtual and augmented reality, energy and healthcare. Visitors could also take a break from presentations to check out some VR in the Virtual Reality Village put on by event sponsor VR/AR Association.
