Julian Castro served as the 16th Secretary of U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) under President Barack Obama. Prior to HUD, Castro served as Mayor of the City of San Antonio, and during his tenure, he became known as a national leader in urban development.

Governor David Ige has been governor of Hawaii since 2014. In 2015, he signed into law what has been called the nation's most aggressive clean energy goal – to generate 100 percent of electricity sales from renewable resources by 2045. At NCES 9.0, he will join Governors Sandoval, Baker and Brown via Skype for a vibrant discussion about how states are deploying clean energy solutions during "States Leading the Charge."

Tina Quigley is the general manager of the Regional Transportation Commission (RTC) of Southern Nevada. As such, she has embraced and pushed for sweeping technological advances, advocated for future planning and built critical partnerships to position the region for ongoing and sustained economic vibrancy. During the Summit, Quigley will give a presentation about how new technology impacts vehicles during "Charging Ahead with Electric Vehicle Innovation."

Tom Husted has been the Chief Executive Officer of Valley Electric Association, Inc. since November 2006. During his panel, "Clean Energy & Rural Communities," Husted will discuss how to ensure that rural communities are not left behind during the clean energy transformation and how rural utilities can help create the platform that allows rural communities to participate in the 21st century economy.

Chris Deschene is a member of the Navajo Nation who is well respected by his peers, tribal leaders, business leaders and Indian Country. As the former Director of the Office of Indian Energy Policy and Programs, he oversaw the development and deployment of key initiatives to spur investment, deployment and management of Indian Country energy projects in the Lower 48 states and Alaska. Deschene will join Tom Husted on the "Clean Energy & Rural Communities" panel.
