Ross Solar Completes The First Of Three Solar Installations Totaling 2.6 Megawatts For Jetro Restaurant Depot

718 kilowatt solar system in College Point, New York

VALHALLA, NY - March 22, 2017 (Investorideas.com Newswire) Ross Solar, a Con Edison Solutions company, has completed the first of three solar installations totaling 2.6 megawatts for Jetro Restaurant Depot at the company's College Point facility in Queens, New York. The SunPower® Helix™ Roof Solution, a fully integrated commercial solar power platform, features 2,196 high-efficiency SunPower E-Series solar panels, once again demonstrating the viability of large scale solar installations in New York City.

According to estimates provided by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, the 718 kilowatt College Park solar power system will offset 641 metric tons of greenhouse gas emissions annually. This is equivalent to 1,535,633 fewer miles driven by an average passenger vehicle, or equal to the carbon sequestered by 16,606 tree seedlings grown for ten years.

"Solar is an important component of our long term strategy, helping us to reduce operational expenses and remain competitive, while underscoring our commitment as a responsible corporate partner to increase renewable energy use," said Jetro Chief Operating Officer Peter Claro. "Ross Solar's unwavering commitment to quality, customer service, and full transparency, together with their expertise in navigating the complexities of large scale solar installations in New York City, made them the right partner for our high profile renewable energy projects."

"We applaud Jetro's commitment to implementing leading solar technology that will deliver operational savings for the company, and contribute to a secure, reliable renewable energy future for New York," said Robert Kline of Ross Solar.

The solar installation was made possible through incentives secured by Ross Solar on Jetro's behalf from the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA) through Governor Cuomo's NY-Sun Initiative.
