Harvest Park Becomes Hub For Cannabis Licenses In Michigan
Harvest Park's infrastructure a plus for licensees
WINDSOR TOWNSHIP, MICH. - November 27, 2017 (Investorideas.com Newswire) Harvest Park, a 130-acre industrial park development located in Windsor Township west of Lansing, Michigan in Eaton County is poised to become the epicenter of Michigan's medical marijuana cultivation, processing, testing and secure transport industries.
Windsor Township has available for application a total of 138 medical marijuana licenses, aided in large part to the recent announcement of Harvest Park, the largest medical marijuana development east of the Mississippi.
The 35-square mile township has approved 10 Class A, 10 Class B and 100 Class C cultivation licenses. The rest of licenses will include 10 for processing, three for secure transport and five for lab testing.
Harvest Park will be a 130-acre modern industrial park in Windsor Township featuring fully improved lots and on-site utilities with access to two major highways strategically located in the center of the state. To meet the heavy power demands of this industry, the development has also partnered with a major utility company to ensure licensed operators of an ample power supply, redundancy and competitive rates. Phase One permanent infrastructure is scheduled for completion January of 2018.
Harvest Park Development LLC, led by Managing Director Jeff Donahue, was formed to develop the most advanced agricultural-centric industrial park for growing, processing, testing and secure transporting of medical marijuana in Michigan.
"We've worked with the Township and gained approval for the local zoning and ordinances required to enable licensure for all levels of cultivation, processing, testing and secure transport," said Donahue.
The 63 acres in Phase One of the park are divided into 10 lots available for sale, targeting licensed cultivators, processors, secure transporters, testing labs, and ancillary suppliers to the medical marijuana industry. The company has 70 percent of Phase One lots sold or pending sale, and projects that Phase Two will open early Q1 of 2018.
The State of Michigan plans to begin licensing, regulating and taxing medical marijuana in early 2018.
