February 13, 2014 (www.investorideas.com newswire) Latam markets were mixed as Bovespa in Brazil decreased 0.51% and Chilean IPSA index increased 1.59%. The local COLCAP index closed at 1515.40 pts., equivalent to a 1.17% increase; the total traded volume reached COP 168,500 million (~83 USD MM).The best performers were Cemex Latam (+5.39%), Exito (+3.93%) and Ecopetrol (+3.06%). On the other hand, the worst performers were Valorem (-2.53%), Banco de Bogota (-1.92%) and Isagen (-1.79%). The most traded shares today were Ecopetrol, PfBancolombia and Cemargos.
Pacific Rubiales Energy announced that it has established a pre-defined automatic securities purchase plan with its designated broker, to facilitate the repurchase of its common shares under the previously announced normal course issuer bid. The Plan has been reviewed by the Toronto Stock Exchange and will be effective starting on Friday February 14, 2014.
Grupo Argos announced that it has signed an agreement with Proteccion S.A. to purchase 19,436,765 common shares of Celsia for a price of COP 5,400 per share within 30 calendar days, equivalent to COP 105,000 mn. With this transaction Grupo Argos increases its participation in Celsia by 2.70% (to 52.90%) and therefore increases its position in the utilities sector.
