July 10, 2014 (www.investorideas.com newswire) The Biometrics Institute has released full results of the 2014 Industry Survey - now in its 5th year - to its members which provides an invaluable insight into different trends and important developments in the biometrics industry.
"The adoption/use of biometrics on mobile devices was seen as the most significant development in the biometrics world over the last 12 months'" explains Isabelle Moeller, Chief Executive of the Biometrics Institute, "This confirms the discussions we have seen amongst our members at the various Biometrics Institute events and reinforces why we are so pleased to confirm that Samsung Electronics are presenting at this year's Biometrics 2014: The future of identity starts here! conference and exhibition organised by Elsevier in partnership with the Biometrics Institute (21-23 October 2014 in London)".
The survey was circulated by email to all members of the Biometrics Institute and other key stakeholders as well as media contacts (around 4000 individuals altogether) in mid April 2014 and closed in June 2014. The list included contacts from around the world especially Australia, New Zealand, Europe, Singapore and the USA. A record 323 individuals responded to the survey of which 36% are members of the Biometrics Institute.
Following feedback from last year’s Survey, several questions were removed from the survey, some new ones added and many amended to take account of market changes. This has made comparisons with previous years’ results largely inappropriate but they are made where possible. Some questions provide a subgroup analysis by region or by organization category (user versus supplier).
The full report is now available to Biometrics Institute members at no charge from the website resource library. A snapshot of results will also be presented at the first USA Member Meeting (23 September 2014 in Washington DC), the Biometrics 2014 (21-23 October in London) and the Showcase Australia 2014 (18 November 2014 in Canberra).
