Bombardier Inc., (TSX:BBD-B) trading at $4.0 rose by $0.020 or 0.50% on a high volume of 10,006,810 shares, making it today's top trader on the TSX.
Bombardier Inc., already late on the first flight of its CSeries jet, is running behind sales and customer targets as the maker of planes and trains struggles to restore investor confidence in the $3.5 billion program.
Four years after winning the first purchase, Bombardier has sold only 180 planes and would need a 67 percent increase in its order book to meet a goal of 300 by mid-2014. The company is as much as 57 percent short of its target of 20 to 30 operators by the time the plane enters service.
Investors are tracking Bombardier's initial foray into the single-aisle jetliner market because continued slow sales would imperil its forecast for as much as $8 billion in annual CSeries revenue later this decade. The company plans to host a briefing on the jet tomorrow, the first since saying Nov. 7 that the maiden flight would be delayed six months, until June.
Twin Butte Energy Ltd., (TSX:TBE) trading at $2.120 dropped $-0.030 or -1.40% on a volume of 9,240,739 shares.
B2Gold Corp., (TSX:BTO) trading at $2.860 gained $0.100 or 3.62% on a volume of 4,594,791 shares.
Kinross Gold Corp., (TSX:K) trading at $7.990 moved up $0.250 or 3.23% on a volume of 3,490,986 shares.
