After such a long upward streak and all time high for the down it is no surprise that many expected the Dow to begin a slight retreat. If the blue-chip index does manage to retrieve its advance and closes in positive territory, it would be its longest winning run in more than two years, or since an eight-session rise that ended Feb. 9, 2011.
The Dow component leading the way up is Boeing (NYSE:BA), which is sporting a $0.71 gain, or 0.9%, moving the stock to $83.65. Volume for Boeing currently sits at 3.1 million shares traded versus an average daily trading volume of 6.6 million shares.
