NEW YORK - June 12, 2012 (Investorideas.com water stocks newswire) - The NASDAQ OMX Group, Inc. announced the results of the annual evaluation of the NASDAQ OMX Global Water Index(SM) , which will become effective prior to market open on Monday, June 18, 2012.
The following nine securities will be added to the Index: Ebara Jitsugyo Co Ltd. (6328 JT), Torishima Pump Manufacturing Co Ltd. (6363 JT), Asia Water Technology Ltd. (AWT SP), HanKore Environment Tech Group Ltd. (BIOT SP), GLV Inc. (GLV/A CT), Modern Water PLC (MWG LN), The Toro Company (TTC UN), Watts Water Technologies Inc. (WTS UN), and Xylem Inc. (XYL UN).
The Index is designed to track the performance of the companies creating products that conserve and purify water for homes, businesses, and industries. The Index is weighted in such a manner as to enhance the underlying liquidity and increase the tradability of the Index Securities. The NASDAQ OMX Global Water Index is evaluated annually in June. The NASDAQ OMX Global Water Index is the basis for the PowerShares Global Water Portfolio (PIO), an exchange-traded fund which seeks investment results that correspond generally to the price and yield of the NASDAQ OMX Global Water Index before fees and expenses.
As a result of the evaluation, the following four securities will be removed from the Index: China Water Industry Group Ltd. (1129 HK), ITT Corp. (ITT UN), Lindsay Corp. (LNN UN), and Tri-Tech Holding Inc. (TRIT UR).
