Detroit Plugs in as Coulomb Technologies Showcases First Electric Vehicle Infrastructure at NAIAS MEDC EcoXperience

North American International Auto Show 2009

DETROIT - January 13 2009 - Marking the first public showing of EV infrastructure at the North American International Auto Show, Coulomb Technologies today announced they will showcase their ChargePoint™ Network and Smartlet™ Networked Charging Stations. Coulomb’s EV infrastructure products will be featured at the MEDC EcoXperience, a new ride and drive element of the show, highlighting the green future of the automotive industry. Drivers of EV’s at the show will “refuel” at Coulomb’s charging stations located along the 700-foot-long oval driving track. Coulomb’s smart networked charging stations are the only infrastructure for electric vehicles that are featured at the show. The North American International Auto Show will be held January 11 through 25 at COBO Center in Detroit.

Coulomb’s ChargePoint Network provides convenient, easy-to-use Smartlet Networked Charging Stations, designed for installation in any location where automobiles are normally parked. These include apartment and condominium parking lots, curbsides, and at the workplace. Users subscribe to the ChargePoint Network and receive an RFID Smart Card that allows them to charge their car at any Smartlet Networked Charging Station.

“With so many electric vehicles featured at this year’s show, we are highlighting the green future of the automobile industry,” said Joe Serra, senior co-chair, 2009 NAIAS. “A networked infrastructure for electric vehicles is an important component of this emerging industry."
