A True Clean Energy Investment: Chesapeake Energy Corp - (NYSE: CHK) - Industry: Natural Gas Exploration & Production
Miami - December 7, 2009 - Karl W. Miller, a senior energy executive and institutional investor today issued the following statement through his advisors. Mr. Miller believes that CHK common equity is significantly undervalued given its position as a purely U.S. domestic producer of Natural Gas and is poised to benefit significantly from the focus on achieving renewable energy goals in the U.S.
Chesapeake Energy is significantly levered. Due to CHK leverage, strong U.S. domestic production profile, and significant discount in price relative to its peer group on a price to earnings basis, Mr. Miller believes CHK equity is positioned to outperform its peer group during 2010 on an invested capital basis.
There will again be energy shortages in the U.S., increased fuel price volatility, and a marked need for new clean power generation, primarily natural gas derived due to its moderate construction time, proven efficiency and security of fuel supply.
