Insider buying has definitely dried up to the modest levels typically seen whenever the market has been poised for another sell off in this bear market cycle. But what little buying remains has a distinct tilt towards “cyclical” companies.
Among all the companies with outstanding insider buying in the past two weeks -- either for sheer size or because the buyers have great records -- only two were in “defensive” sectors. They were General Mills (GIS) and Cott (COT), a soft drink maker.
