Natural gas market gets boost from West-East Transmission Project

BEIJING, Dec. 31 -- With the 4,000-km natural gas pipeline officially going into commercial operation Thursday, China expects to see a boom in its budding natural gas market.

"Now our top worry is that the current gas transmission capacity cannot meet the soaring demand of the consumers," said SuShulin, vice president of China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC).
