United Protection Services Inc. was formed in 1985 in Edmonton, Alberta in response to the need for an enhanced level of private security. The growth and success of the Company has since been spectacular. From its beginnings (one guard, one car and one dog), the Company now employs in excess of 800 professionally trained, highly skilled officers in 12 branch offices located across Western Canada.
United specializes in high impact, high visibility, and high risk security situations coupled with one of the broadest ranges of services in the industry.
The Company's outstanding growth record is the result of being a prominent leader and innovator in Western Canada. Much of that growth has come through an ongoing expansion strategy utilizing an aggressive acquisition and partnership program, culminating in 17 acquisitions in 17 years.
Other innovations include the formation of an Aboriginal employment and training division, an automated technology division, video monitoring of remote and high risk sites, a full service K-9 division, and the United Victims Assistance Foundation which provides free body guard protection for people in threatening situations.
The Company is committed to a long range plan of providing an elite corps of the most professional security personnel in Canada and beyond, ultimately with international involvement.
In 2004 the Company executed a reverse takeover of a Company listed on the TSX-Venture Exchange, which propelled United into the public marketplace. The objective of this acquisition was to provide the basis for funding future growth and expansion by accessing the equity markets.
This positions the Company to take full advantage of situations in the current operating environment, offering significant growth opportunities for the Company to move aggressively to the next stage of its development strategy.

Mr. Ramsoondar has over 20 years of experience in corporate finance and mergers and acquisitions. He joined the United Protection as Vice President of Finance and Administration in 1999. Fredy has a Bachelor of Commerce , South Africa; Microsoft Certified Solutions Provider as well as a Certified Network Administrator. As the Chief Executive Officer, Fredy has already started to engage key allies in order to direct the company to a much larger position within the market UPSG services and also within the investment sector.
Mr. Curtis Long
Executive Vice President
Chief Legal Officer
Mr. Long has over 35 years of commercial and legal experience. He joined United Protection Security Group Inc. in 2004. Curtis moved into a management role in 2009 with continuing responsibilities for legal affairs and regulatory compliances. Curtis has been a senior officer with two other Public Companies and has significant experience in mergers and acquisitions.
Mr. Luis Guzman
Vice President Operations
Mr. Guzman returned to the employ of United Protection Services in January 2011 after working nine years with GARDA and Initial Security. Luis has over 22 years in the private security industry and has a wealth of experience and knowledge behind him ranging from Stationary Guard Management; Scheduling, and has held positions such as Human Resources Manager, Branch Operations Manager and Mobile Manager. Luis' private security career commenced in 1990 with Inner-Tec Security and his hands-on experience serves him well in his position of Vice President of Operations with United Protection Services.
Mr. Brent Moore
MBA, CMA
Chief Financial Officer
Mr. Moore has held various positions with accounting firms in the Edmonton area since 1990 and has been involved in the audit of public companies since 2001. He was previously an associate principal with MacKay LLP Chartered Accountants in Edmonton. Mr. Moore received his Masters of Business Administration in 1992 and Certified Management Accountant designation in 1995.
