BEIJING FACTORY SIGNS MANUFACTURING DEAL WITH TEXAS GUITAR DESIGNER

Austin, TX - Austin-based Frett'd Treasures, Inc. and AOFA Musical Instruments Factory in Beijing, China have begun production after having closed on a global licensing agreement to co-produce a line of instruments created by the company's founder, luthier/entrepreneur/musician Dan'l Terry.

The license agreement entitles the largest electric guitar factory in Beijing to produce the line of instruments based on Terry's patent pending ergonomic innovations for both the domestic and global guitar market.

The instruments are being domestically marketed as Dan'l Guitars Globally made in Austin, TX with final assembly and installation of US made pickups and top brand hardware taking place in the "Music Capital of the World." Co-marketing & upgrading the instrument line with premium established brands sets the new brand apart from both the major US makers offerings and the generic instruments coming from the far east.

Market testing of the prototypes, shows strong appeal and viability for the brand domestically in a market almost evenly divided between the long established US brands of Gibson, Fender and others and the influx of cheap knockoff guitars from Asia. The new instruments rate very high in testing in visual appeal, playability, sound and comfort measures. Customer orders for the production line instruments have already begun by collectors & players who've found the instruments on the web.

Prior to the closing of the licensing/co-manufacturing agreement, Terry's hand-built instruments were produced exclusively by custom order at starting prices above several thousand dollars with delivery times in excess of two years per instrument. Terry is also the author of a series of e-books entitles Dan'ls AX HAC KS on guitar and stringed instrument maintenance.

Terry seems to have figured out that the business opportunity in the huge guitar market isn't in the instruments themselves but rather the IPs, content, and licensing around guitars.

From a one person, bootstrapped company operating out of one room of a south Texas suburban home, Dan'l Guitars and Frett'd Treasures, Inc. has rapidly become a brand and company to watch closely.
